Project 03/03: 2022 Rebrand

This project is an extension and evolution of the previously designed TaskHuman illustration system. TaskHuman is a mobile app that offers 1-on-1 wellness coaching with live professionals via video call.

I was responsible for creating the illustration style and system as the art director.

Illustration System

A key system goal was to showcase diversity in ethnicities, cultures, races, ages, body types, etc. A challenge was to accomplish this without using skin tones and facial details. Real-world references help reflect our vast pool of users and coaches.

Geometric shapes help add visual interest without relying on adding details. This helps simplify the form and figure. The usage of ellipses, straight lines, and bezier curves achieve this aesthetic throughout the illustration system.

The illustration color system follows a limited palette to maintain consistency and produce branded assets. Values of blue, yellow, and neutrals form the palette. Pairing of our primary colors adds playfulness and draws focus to certain details.

The illustration system comprises a variety of perspectives to establish the scene and build a narrative. Different perspectives define the level of complexity of the imagery.
